Baldwin-Wallace College Volleyball Defeats Ohio Athletic Conference Rival

Capital University, 3-2, and Improves to 10-1 Overall and 2-0 in the OAC

BEREA, OHIO-- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference rival Capital Unversity, 3-2, today (Sept. 19) at The Capital Center in Columbus. With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.  Capital dropped to 9-5 overall and suffered its first loss in conference play, falling to 1-1 in the OAC.

The Yellow Jackets won the match 3-2 (27-30, 27-30, 30-20, 30-28, 15-13). Junior All-OAC outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/St. Ursula Academy) led the offensive attack with 22 kills. Sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich./West Catholic) had 21 kills and sophomore middle hitter Brooke Hinkle (Wellington) had 16 kills. Senior All-American setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/St. Paul) added 55 set assists. 

Defensively, the Yellow Jackets were led by junior libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green) with 40 digs, Camp had 26 and Selgo added 25. Sophomore middle hitter Maria DePeters (Williamsville N.Y./Mt. St. Mary Academy) and Hinkle each had three blocks.

The Yellow Jackets next match will be September 22 when they play OAC rival Wilmington College in Wilmington. The match will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred Raizk Arena.
