Complete 2008 All-OAC Team and Special Award Winners

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace  College senior middle hitter Maria DePeters (Buffalo, N.Y./Mount St. Mary Academy) has been named to the 2008 All-Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball team, released on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

DePeters, a second-team All-OAC selection, led the Yellow Jackets with 413 kills, 110 total blocks and 29 service aces in 2008. Her 413 kills also ranked fourth in the OAC during the regular season.

For her career,  DePeters served as a starter in each of her four seasons and played  in 477 games. She ranks fifth on the BW all-time list with 1,405 kills and 156 services aces . In addition,  she finished third all-time in school history with 187 solo blocks.

DePeters was the lone senior on the 2008 Yellow Jacket squad that finished 13-21 and qualified for the OAC postseason tournament.

“Maria showed a lot of dedication and commitment to the program over the past four years,” said BW Head Coach Vicki Brault. “She really stepped up this season and provided leadership for a young team. I admire her for the effort and appreciate all that she did during her career. She is very deserving of this honor.”
