Baldwin-Wallace Finishes Tourament With A Five Game Loss to The College
of Wooster at the 2005 Wittenberg Fall Classic
SPRINGFIELD, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team finished the 2005 Wittenberg Fall Classic with a loss to The College of Wooster, 3-2.
With the loss the Yellow Jackets drop to 20-11 overall and 2-2 in tournament play, while Wooster improves to 25-6 overall and 4-0 in tournament play. B-W lost by scores of 21-30, 30-26, 30-28, 27-30 and 9-15.
Leading the Yellow Jackets offensively was sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/ St. Ursula Academy) and freshman Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich./ West Catholic) both with 16 kills. Followed by Hills and Selgo was senior All-OAC right side hitter Emily Albanese (Mentor) with ten. Junior setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) recorded 44 set assists. Hills also led the team in service aces with six, followed by sophomore libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/ Senior) will four.
Defensively, Marten recorded 30 digs, followed by Albanese with 25 and Hills with 21. Camp led the team in total blocks with five (one solo and four assists), followed by freshman middle hitter Maria DePeters (Buffalo, N.Y./ Mount St. Mary Academy) with four (one solo and three assists).
The Yellow Jackets will play their next game on Tuesday, November 1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference Quarterfinals at 7:00 p.m. against Heidelberg College in the Ursprung Gymnasium. The winner of that game will continue on in OAC tournament play on Friday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m.
