Baldwin Wallace Volleyball Team Drops First Game At Washington (Mo.)

University Tournament to U-W LaCrosse, 3-1

ST. LOUIS, MO. -- The Baldwin Wallace volleyball team lost their first game in the Washington (Mo.) University Tournament, to nationally ranked #24 University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse, 3-1.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets are now 11-6 overall and 0-1 in tournament play, while U-W LaCrosse improves to 14-4 overall and 1-0 for the tournament. B-W lost by the scores of 30-19, 33-31, 21-30, 30-26. 

Leading the Yellow Jacket offense was freshman outside hitter Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich./ West Catholic) with 17 kills, followed by sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/St. Ursula Academy) with 14 and freshman middle hitter Brooke Hinkle (Wellington) had 10 kills.  sophomore libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green) led the team with two service aces.  Junior setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) recorded a team-leading 55 set assists.

Defensively, Marten led the team with 28 digs, followed by Camp with 23, Selgo with 20, and senior rightside player Emily Albanese (Mentor) with 17.  Maria DePeters (Buffalo, N.Y./ Mount St. Mary Academy) had a team-high five blocks. 

The Yellow Jackets will continue play this evening at 5:15 p.m. (CST) at the Washington (Mo.) University Invitational and again on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (CST).
