Vollyball Beats Pacific (Ore.) University 3-0 in Their Final Game at the

Boxer Kickoff Invitational In Forest Grove, Oregon

BEREA, OHIO --  The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team ended the Boxer Kickoff Invitational Tournament with a win over the host Pacific (Ore.) University , 3-0 (30-20, 30-22, 30-25) yesterday (Saturday, Sept. 3) in Forest Grove, Oregon.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets finished 3-1 overall in their first tournament of the year.

Freshman outside hitter, Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapid, Mich) and junior setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/ Senior) led the Yellow Jackets offensively. Selgo had a hitting average of .400 and 10 kills, while Camp recorded 29 set assists, three kills, and one service ace. Also for the offense, senior right side player Emily Albanese (Mentor) recorded seven kills and two service aces.

On defense the Yellow Jackets had five players in the double-digits for digs. Leading the way was sophomore libaro Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/ Senior) with 21 digs, followed by Albanese with 15, sophomore Toni Ward (Mogadore/ Field) with 14, Selgo with 13, and Camp with 11. Freshman middle hitter Maria DePeters (Buffalo, NY/ Mt. St. Mary Academy) led the team in blocking with five total blocks.

The Yellow Jackets return home for a non-conference matchup against Hiram College on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Randolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the home opener.
