The Baldwin-Wallace College Volleyball Team Defeats John Carroll, 3-0,

To Advance to Ohio Athletic Conference "Final Four"

BEREA, OHIO — The second-seeded Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team defeated Cleveland cross-town rival and seventh-seeded John Carroll University, 3-0, tonight (November 1) in the quarterfinal round of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament in Berea, Ohio.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets are 21-11 overall and advances to the OAC Tournament "Final Four" this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 -5. B-W will play the winner of the No. 6 Mount Union and No. 3 Otterbein on Friday at 5:00 p.m. This marks the 15th time in school history that B-W has advanced to the OAC Tournament "Final Four" including nine straight appearances.

Sophomore outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/ St. Ursula Academy) led the way for B-W with 15 kills. Freshman outside hitter Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich.) was second with nine kills. Junior Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) had a team-high 36 set assists. Senior right-side player Emily Albanese (Mentor) and freshman middle hitter Maria DePeters (Williamsville, N.Y./ Mount St. Mary Academy) each led the team in service aces with two.

Defensively, Camp recorded a team-best 18 digs. Selgo was second with 12 and sophomore libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/ Senior) added 13. Freshman middle hitter Brooke Hinkle (Wellington) had a team-leading four total blocks (four assisted) and Camp had three (one solo and two assists).

The Yellow Jackets will next play Friday, Nov. 4 against Mount Union College at 5:00 p.m. Top seeded Ohio Northern will host the semifinal and championship rounds this weekend in Ada.
