The Baldwin-Wallace College Volleyball Team Loses To Capital University, 3-1, in

the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Game

ADA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team lost to Capital University, 3-1, today (November 5) in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship game in Ada, Ohio.

With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 22-12 overall for the season, while Capital improves to 32-4 overall and receives an automatic bid to the 2005 NCAA Division III Championships. B-W lost by scores of 30-32, 30-18, 25-30, and 30-21.

Leading the Yellow Jacket offense was freshman outside hitter Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich./ West Catholic) with 20 kills. Selgo was followed by sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/ St. Ursula Academy) with 15. Junior setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) recorded 60 set assists in addition to five service aces. Sophomore libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/ Senior) recorded three service aces and freshman middle hitter Maria DePeters (Williamsville, N.Y./ Mount St. Mary Academy) recorded two.

Defensively for B-W, Marten led the team in digs with 24, followed by Hills with 19, and Selgo with 15. Freshman middle hitter Brooke Hinkle (Wellington) led the team in blocks with six assists and was followed by Camp with four assists.

With the completion of the OAC season, Camp was named first-team All-OAC, Hills was named second-team All-OAC earning her second All-OAC honor, and Selgo was named second-team All-OAC in addition to being named the OAC freshman-of-the-Year.
