Yellow Jackets Lose to Hope (Mich.), 3-1, on Day Two of Marcia French Tournament
BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team lost to Hope (Mich.) College, 3-1 (26-30, 30-17, 28-30, 23-30), in the final game of pool play at the annual Marcia French Memorial Tournament in Berea.
With the loss, the Yellow Jackets are now 5-3 overall for the season.
Leading the way for B-W was sophomore Kelsey Hills (Toledo/ St. Ursula Academy) with 12 kills. Freshman Maria DePeters (Buffalo, N.Y./ Mount St. Mary Academy) was second with nine kills and senior Emily Albanese (Mentor) and freshman Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich./ West Catholic) each added seven kills. Junior transfer Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) recorded a team-high 42 set assists.
On defense, sophomore Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/ Senior) had a team-leading 37 digs. Albanese was second with 15 and Camp added 13.
The tournament concludes this afternoon with consolation matches starting at 2:00 p.m. followed by the championship matches at 4:00 p.m.
