The Baldwin-Wallace College Volleyball Team Loses to Hiram, 3-2

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team was defeated by Hiram College, 3-2, tonight (Wednesday, Sept. 7) at the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.

With its loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-2 overall. B-W lost to Hiram by the scores of 30-26, 30-26, 26-30, 22-30 and 14-16.

Sophomore Kelsey Hills (Toledo/ St. Ursula Academy) and freshmen Maria DePeters (Buffalo, N.Y./ Mount St. Mary Academy), Brooke Hinkle (Wellington) and Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich./ West Catholic) led the Yellow Jacket attack with 11 kills each.

In the back row, junior transfer Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) had a team-leading 52 set assists and sophomore libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green) led the team with 40 digs. Senior Emily Albanese (Mentor) chipped in with 20 defensive digs and Selgo added 17.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10 when they host the annual eight-team Marcia French Memorial Tournament in the Ursprung Gymnasium. Friday's matches are in two pools of four teams each and are at 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Action resumes with pool play on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and the championship rounds are at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
