The Baldwin-Wallace College Tennis Camp

On-Line Camp Registration Form

The Baldwin-Wallace Tennis Camp will place an emphasis on the individual.  Each camper will have the full use of all available tennis, teaching tools.  The ratio of instructors to campers is one to five or six.  All campers will get approximately four to four and one-half hours of instruction each day of court experience with racquet in hand.  Enrollment is limited to ensure individual instruction.

At Kent State University, Jack was voted the most valuable member of the tennis team as well as the team captain, and was Mid American Conference Champion.  Jack has been a high ranking tennis player in the area for some time.
 

Jack has been the head pro at Big Creek Racquet Club, Lakewood Country Club and River Run Racquet Club.  He presently teaches racquet sports at B-W College and is the B-W Women’s Tennis Coach.  He was named 1999 Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

 

Jack graduated in 1968 from Kent State University with a BS in Education and has completed the Dennis VanDermeer Tennis Institute for tennis teaching professionals.  Jack is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) with a Pro I ranking.

Equipment

There are six newly surfaced outdoor tennis courts available for use at B-W. We may use the football complex for running and exercise.  An air-conditioned classroom will be used for discussions, lessons and films. Ball machines, jump ropes and a TV camera with video equipment will be used daily by each camper.
For the Camper
Players will be grouped according to age and experience.  Campers will receive a tennis T-shirt with the Baldwin-Wallace Tennis Camp Logo.  An “End of the Week” party will be held with pizza and prizes. 
Campers are asked to buy their lunch at the Bee Hive (the student den) or they may bring lunch if they wish.  Water will be available daily on the courts.
Time and Place
Hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.  Courts are located at Beech and Center Streets, on the B-W campus in Berea.
Who May Apply?
Any student from 9-18 years of age may apply. Come with a hard-working attitude, mixed with a desire to have fun. We will work, learn, improve, and have a good time doing it!

1 child ~ $150                   2 children ~ $280           Each Additional Children ~ $130

Deposit
A $40 deposit is required. To avoid further billing pay in full.
