Baldwin-Wallace College Announces its 2010-11 SportsTime Ohio Broadcast Schedule

BEREA, OHIO – During the 2010-11 academic calendar, the Baldwin-Wallace College athletic department and sports information office will combine with S&S Video Productions to broadcast 14 Yellow Jacket athletics events, including 10 home contests, on regional cable sports giant SportsTime Ohio (STO). Historically, B-W has broadcast more of its athletics events on national and cable television than any other school in Division III athletics.

B-W, in conjunction with S&S Video Productions of Wakeman, Ohio, will tape and produce the games that will be given to SportsTime Ohio to air. The broadcasts have the capability of reaching a minimum of 3.4 million households in the SportsTime Ohio family of networks and many more via Dish and Direct TV access. The 2010-11 year will mark the fourth straight year that B-W and S&S have teamed to broadcast athletic events.

B-W will broadcast its men's and
women's soccer doubleheader versus
Muskingum for the second straight
season.

The fall sports broadcasts are highlighted by six Yellow Jacket football games, including home contests versus The College of Wooster (September 2), Marietta College (October 2) and Otterbein University (October 9). Veteran sportscaster Adam Mendoza will do the play-by-play.

In addition, the October 30 men’s and women’s soccer doubleheader versus Muskingum University also will be aired by STO. It marks the second straight year B-W’s soccer program will have games televised, as last October 17, the Yellow Jackets and Fighting Muskies were a part of the Ohio Athletic Conference’s first-ever tripleheader telecast at B-W. B-W won all three contests.

During the winter sports season, a total of six events will be broadcast, including two home men’s and women’s basketball doubleheaders and a home wrestling match. The other contest is an away men’s basketball game.

The men’s and women’s hoops doubleheader versus Wilmington College on January 29, 2011 starts off the basketball broadcasts. The February 19 basketball doubleheader date versus Ohio Northern University will also be televised and designated as a “Take a Kid to the Game” Day. Finally, the wrestling team’s February 1 dual match versus Muskingum University will mark the first ever wrestling match broadcast at B-W.

In addition to games broadcasted on STO, Yellow Jacket fans can log onto the College Web site and view the games again. The address to view previous B-W football, basketball and soccer TV games is: www.bw.edu/athletics/video/

The B-W Athletics video library currently contains games from the past five seasons of Yellow Jacket football in addition to some historical contests like the 1978 National Championship game victory against traditional rival Wittenberg University and the 1982 NFL strike era game versus Wittenberg that aired on CBS with Pat Summerall and John Madden doing the play-by-play and color. The library also contains video from B-W basketball, soccer and wrestling.
