Week's Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmers of the Week
BEREA, OHIO — Baldwin-Wallace College sophomore swimmers Sara Gombash (Perrysburg/ Toledo Notre Dame Academy) and Luke Grilli (Londonderry, N.H./ Londonderry) are this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmers of the Week. Gombash and Grilli each earned their honor for their efforts in Yellow Jacket dual meet wins last week in a nonleague meet against Oberlin College in Berea on Wednesday and in an OAC meet at Wilmington College on Saturday.
Gombash had four individual and two relay first place finishes in the wins against Oberlin (116-53) and Wilmington (121-75) last week. Against Oberlin, Gombash won the 200-yard individual medley (2:19.71), the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.85) and was on the winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:57.16). At Wilmington, Gombash won the 200-meter IM (2:42.38), the 100-meter fly (1:11.89) and was on the winning 200-meter medley relay (2:13.02).
Grilli picked up five individual wins in two B-W victories last week. Against Oberlin (111-75), Grilli won the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.55), the 100-yard backstroke (57.14 seconds) and was on the winning 200-yard free relay team (1:31.93). Against Wilmington, Grilli won the 200-meter free (2:07.94) and was on the winning 200-meter free team (1:43.74).
This Saturday, November 13, the Yellow Jackets are back in action when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to swim against Ohio Wesleyan University at 12:00 noon.
