The women were led by Senior Marynda Yocum (Canal Winchester/Pickerington) who won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.70. In addition Yocum placed 4th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:17.73) and 6th in the 50-yard freestyle (25.82). Juniors Lisa Fox (Copley) placed 8th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:20.81) and Lindsay Alexander (Ashland) placed 6th in the 100-yard breastroke (1:13.89). Sophomore Emily Wood (Carrollton) placed 8th in the 50-yard feestyle (26.51) and 7th in the 200-yard breastroke (2:40.73). Stephanie Zurca (Twinsburg) placed 7th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.58). Freshman Sara Gombash (Perrysburg/Notre Dame) broke the school record in the 200-yard butterfly and placed 4th with a time of 2:13.84 and finished 5th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.63. Freshman Julie Stancliff (Erie, Pa./ McDowell) won both the 1-meter (353.15) and 3-meter (372.65) diving events. Fellow freshman diving teammates, Katie Krzywicki (Brook Park/Midpark) placed 3rd and 2nd and Nicole Bucci (South Connesville, Pa./Connellsville Area) placed 5th and 4th in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, respectively. The women also placed 4th in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:55.82, including team members Fox, Zurca, Gombash, and Wood. Additionally, Yocum, Zurca, Gombash, and Kristen Showalter (Bowling Green) teamed up to place 4th in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:13.46.
For the men, Senior Scott Roberts (Sandusky/Perkins) placed 7th in the 100-yard butterfly (54.03), 6th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.79), and 7th in the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.49). Junior Keith DeVore (Mansfield/Ontario) placed 7th in the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 1:02.66. Freshmen D.J. Mosiniak (Toledo/DeSales) placed 2nd in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.12 and Luke Grilli (Londonderry, N.H.) placed 8th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.47. In addition, the men's 200-yard medley relay team came in third (1:40.47). The team members included Grilli, DeVore, Roberts, and Mosiniak.
The Yellow Jacket swimming and diving team will not be action until January 1 when they make the annual trip to West Palm Beach, Fla. B-W will then travel to Bethany (W.Va.) College on January 10 for a dual meet beginning at 1:00 p.m.
