BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College sophomore diver Todd Richert (North Royalton) placed sixth on the one-meter diving board on the second day (Thursday, March 19) of the 2009 NCAA Division III Championship at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. Richert also finished 14th in the 3-meter diving event on the final day (Saturday, March 21) of competition to earn his fourth career All-American honor.
Richert totaled 465.85 points and finished just four points away from cracking the top five in the 1-meter dive. He finished with 414 points in the 3-meter dive but did not qualify for the championship final. Richert is now the only four-time All-American in the history of B-W swimming and diving.
A year ago, Richert placed 13th in the 1-meter event and 12th in the 3-meter event to earn All-America acclaim (top 16 divers) in each event. He became B-W's first-ever 2-time All-American in swimming and diving.
