BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men's swim team defeated Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 78-59 and the women were defeated 83-65 in the lone meet during the team's training in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Leading the men was Senior Scott Roberts (Sandusky/Perkins) who placed 1st in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 59.99. Junior Keith DeVore (Mansfield/Ontario) placed 1st in the 50-yard breastroke with a time of 30.4. Freshman Luke Grilli (Londonderry, N.H.) placed 1st in the 50-yard back stroke with a time of 28.36. In addition, the men's 200-yard medley relay team also came in first (1:44.27). The team members included Grilli, DeVore, Roberts, and Mosiniak.
For the women, Junior Kristen Showalter (Bowling Green) took 1st place in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:05.85 Junior Carey McDermott (Salem/Senior) placed 1st in the 50-yard breaststroke. Freshman Sara Gombash (Perrysburg/Notre Dame) finished in 1st place in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 28.51.
The Yellow Jacket swimming and diving team will be back in action Saturday, January 10 when they travel to Bethany (W.Va.) College a dual meet beginning at 1:00 p.m.
