Yellow Jacket Swimming & Diving Teams Both Fall to Case Western Reserve University
CLEVELAND, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams fell host Case Western Reserve University tonight (Friday, January 27, 2012) at the Veale Natatorium.
The Yellow Jacket women lost to Case, 165-110, and the BW men were also defeated by a score of 166-90. With these loses, the BW women are now 4-6 overall and the men are now 3-7 overall.
The Yellow Jacket men were led by senior Nic Null (Shelby/ Mansfield St. Peter’s) placed 1st overall in the 100-yard Freestyle finished in a time of 48.85. Also for the men junior diver Tony Tijerina (Defiance/Napoleon) placed first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 207.95.
The women were led by sophomore Emma Gerdes (Avon) who won the 50-yard backstoke in a time of 30.36. Also for the women four-time NCAA Division III All-American junior diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) won the 1-meter event with 261.15 points and won the 3-meter event with 258.85.
The Yellow Jackets return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 28 when they travel to OAC rival John Carroll University at the William H. Johnson Natatorium at 1:00 p.m.
