Yellow Jacket Swimming & Diving Teams Both Lose to Washington & Jefferson (Pa.)
BEREA, OHIO Ė The Baldwin Wallace University menís and womenís swimming and diving teams each lost in dual meet competition today (Saturday, November 12, 2011) to visiting Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center. The loss was just the first in four meets for the BW women.
The Presidentsí men defeated the Yellow Jacket men, 138-100, and the W&J women beat the BW women, 133-95. Despite the loss, the Yellow Jacket women are now 3-1 overall (2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference) and the BW men are 2-2 overall (2-0 OAC).
The BW women were led by four-time NCAA Division III All-American junior diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) as she won the 1-meter voluntary event with 186.60 points and the 1-meter optional event with 260.05 points. In addition, sophomore Angela Musille (Canton/ GlenOak) won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:10.08.
The Yellow Jacket men were led by sophomore Patrick Donohoe (Columbus/ Bishop Watterson) who won the 200-yard Indivdual medley in a time of 2:06.14. Also winning for the Yellow Jacket men were senior Nic Null (Shelby/ Mansfield St. Peterís), who won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.08 seconds, and freshman Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills/ Macedonia Nordonia), who won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.46.
The Yellow Jacket men and women return to action on Friday, Nov. 18 when they travel to nearby Oberlin to face Oberlin College at 6:30 p.m. Next Saturday, Nov. 19, BW is at OAC-rival the University of Mount Union for a 4:00 p.m. dual meet.
