B-W Freshman Diver Julie Pinter Named OAC Athlete of the Week


Pinter set two school-records
on Saturday.

BEREA, OHIO – Baldwin-Wallace College freshman diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville) has been tabbed as the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week

Pinter won all four of her diving events this past weekend and set two school-records in B-W’s regular season finale at rival John Carroll University on Saturday (January 30, 2010).

Versus Allegheny (Pa.) College on Friday, Pinter placed first in both the optional and voluntary one-meter dives with final scores of 174.80 and 251.60 points, respectively.

Versus JCU on Saturday, Pinter placed first in both the one-meter and three-meter championship diving events with final scores of 467.53 and 446.92 points, respectively. The previous school three-meter mark was eight years old and the one-meter mark was seven years old.

Pinter also is provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship Meet in mid-March along with fellow freshman Erin O’Donnell (Perry) on the women’s side and four-time All-American junior Todd Richert (North Royalton) on the men’s side.

The Yellow Jackets are idle until the OAC Championship Meet that will be held Thursday through Saturday, February 18-20 at the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium.
