SPORTS PLAYED (YEARS AND LETTERS WON):   Sarah played four years of softball and earned four varsity letters.

ACADEMIC HONORS:   Sarah was an outstanding student-athlete. She was a member of the Dean's List, carried a 3.35 grade point average and was named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference as a senior.

ATHLETIC HONORS:   At the 2011-12 Baldwin Wallace University Honors Day Awards Ceremony, Sarah earned the Most Outstanding Senior Women Athlete Award.

RECORD-SETTER:  Sarah Baker owns the all-time school-record for pitching victories with 44.  She also is among the leaders in several other pitching catagories for both a career and single season.

GENERAL NOTES & OTHER INFORMATION:    Sarah Baker is one of the finest softball pitchers to ever grace the field at Baldwin Wallace University. The four-year starter, who received the school's Outstanding Senior Female Athlete Award in 2011-12, had a 44-27 career pitching record with the 44 wins representing the school career record. She compiled a 44-27 record with a 2.37 earned run average and 210 strikeouts in 454 career innings pitched. She made 81 appearances, including 67 starting assignments with 49 complete games, 11 individual shutouts and two combined shutouts and two saves. At the plate and in 142 career games and starts, Sarah batted .266 (113-for-425) with 52 runs scored, 22 doubles, two triples, three homeruns and 60 runs batted-in. As a senior, she received Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. During her four years, she helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 93-64 record, win the 2011 OAC Tournament title and advance to the Central Region of the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
    As a freshman in 2008-2009, Sarah played in her first season of softball and earned her first varsity letter. She was named as the OAC Pitcher of the Week on March 23, 2009 for her efforts in pitching shutout wins against Maryville (Tenn.) College and Spalding (Ky.) University. In 23 pitching appearances, including 19 starts, she compiled a 12-8 record with one save, a 2.25 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 133.2 innings pitched. She had 16 complete games and four shutouts. Sarah also appeared in 27 games with 27 starts and hit .280 (23-for-82) with 10 runs scored, three doubles, one triple and 11 runs batted-in. BW finished 24-16 overall.
     As a sophomore in 2009-2010, Sarah played her second season of softball and earned her second letter. She was named as the OAC Pitcher of the Week on April 5 for her efforts versus Wooster, Notre Dame, Ohio Wesleyan and Marietta. Sarah compiled a 19-11 record with a 2.38 ERA and a career-high 88 strikeouts in a school-record 185 innings pitched. Her 19 wins also were a school single-season record.  In addition, Sarah had 21 complete games. Sarah played in all 40 games and started all 40 and batted .276 (32-for-116) with career-highs in at-bats, base hits, runs scored with 32, doubles with 11 and RBI with 19. BW finished 23-17 overall.   
    As a junior in 2010-2011, Sarah played in her third season of softball and earned her third letter. She compiled a 6-4 pitching record in 12 appearances, including 10 starts, and had a 2.89 ERA and 24 whiffs in 53 and one-third innings pitched. She had four complete games and one shutout. In 36 total games and 36 starts, she batted .265 (30-for-113) with 11 runs scored, four doubles, her second career homer and 15 RBI. She helped BW tie the school single-season record for wins with 28, compile a 28-11 record, win the OAC Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Division III Central Region Tournament..
    As a senior in 2011-2012, Sarah played her fourth season of softball and earned her fourth letter. She set the school-record for career victories during a 3-2 victory at Chatham (Pa.) College on March 26. Sarah started 36 games and batted .246 (28-for-114) with 12 runs scored, four doubles, one triple, one homer and 15 RBI. On the mound, Sarah made 14 appearances, including 11 starts, and had a 7-4 record with one save, a career-low 2.22 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 82 innings pitched. She had eight complete games and three shutouts. BW finished 18-20 overall. Sarah was named as an Academic All-OAC student-athlete.
