Baldwin-Wallace College Softball Junior Outfielder Chelsea Saunders Earns All-OAC Honors
BEREA, OHIO – Baldwin-Wallace College junior outfielder Chelsea Saunders (Medina/ Highland) has been tabbed as an honorable mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection for her efforts during the Yellow Jackets 24-win season in 2009.
Saunders started all 40 games and was second on the team with a .392 batting average. She scored 30 runs, drove in 15 and drew 13 walks out of the number-two spot in the lineup. Saunders also was successful on 10-of-11 stolen base attempts and led the team with a .448 on-base percentage.
B-W finished the season at 24-16 overall and 10-8 in the OAC. The Yellow Jackets lose only one player to graduation and are expected to return 10 starters, including five seniors in 2010.
