Baldwin-Wallace’s Davis Named First-Team Academic All-American 

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior standout centerfielder Tanya Davis (Hinckley/ Medina Highland) has been named as a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-American. It is the second straight year that Davis has been tabbed as an Academic All-American. She was a third-team pick a year ago.

Freshman Tabitha Murray Named First-Team All-Central Region

BEREA, OHIO – Baldwin-Wallace College freshman Tabitha Murray (Mogadore/ Field) has been named to the 2011 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Central Region team. Murray was tabbed as a first-team selection at the utility position. As a first-team pick, Murray is now eligible for NFCA Division III All-America honors. (Complete Release)

ADRIAN, MICH. – The third-seed Baldwin-Wallace College softball team was defeated by fourth-seeded and 24th-ranked Trine University, 6-5, today (Saturday, May 14) in an elimination game at the eight-team NCAA Central Region Tournament hosted by Adrian College at the Adrian Softball Field.  (Complete Release)


Baldwin-Wallace Softball Team Falls to Hiram, 5-4, in Second Round of NCAA Central Regional Tournament

ADRIAN, MICH.– The third-seed Baldwin-Wallace College softball team was defeated by the seventh-seed Hiram College, 5-4, today (Saturday, May 14) in a second round game at the eight-team NCAA Central Region Tournament hosted by Adrian College at the Adrian Softball Field. The game which started on Friday, May 13 at 4:45 p.m. was suspended in the sixth inning due to lighting and restarted this morning at 9:00 a.m. (Complete Release)

 

Baldwin-Wallace Softball Team Defeats Bethany (W. Va.), 6-3, in First Game of NCAA Regional Tournament

ADRIAN, MICH. – The Baldwin-Wallace College softball team defeated Bethany (W. Va.) College today (Thursday, May 12) in the team’s opening game of the eight-team NCAA Central Region Tournament hosted by Adrian College at the Adrian Softball Field. The Yellow Jackets were led by senior second team All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Tanya Davis (Hinckley/Medina Highland) as she was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in, scored two runs and had an assist from centerfield. B-W Softball Coaches Named Ohio Athletic Conference Coaching Staff of the Year

BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin-Wallace College Head Softball Coach Tom Spencer and his outstanding staff of assistant coaches, Joe Yocabet and Gary Saunders, have been named as the 2010-11 Ohio Athletic Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.  This is the second time that Spencer has been honored by the OAC. He was the 2001 OAC Coach of the Year

BEREA, OHIO –  Four Baldwin-Wallace College student-athletes, softball players Tanya Davis (Hinckley/ Medina Highland), Katrina Resek (Strongsville) and Sarah Baker (Mentor/ Lake Catholic) and baseball player Brendan Toughey (East Amherst, N.Y./ St. Josephs Collegiate) have been named to the 2011 CoSIDA/ CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District IV team for their efforts in the classroom and on the field. B-W Beats ONU in OAC Softball Championship Game, 2-1, in Nine Innings on Feciuch Homerun

ADA, OHIO – The third-seed Baldwin-Wallace College softball team defeated top-seeded Ohio Northern University, 2-1 in nine innings, today (Saturday, May 7) in the 2011 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Game at the ONU Softball Field in Ada to capture the 2011 OAC title. The Yellow Jackets won the game and their first-ever OAC softball crown when freshman shortstop Lauren Feciuch (Kent/ Field) hit a walkoff homerun with two outs in the ninth. (Complete Release)

BEREA, OHIO –  The Baldwin-Wallace College softball team placed five student-athletes, including four freshmen, on the 2011 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. The Yellow Jackets ended their regular season with a 27-9 overall mark, placed third during the OAC regular season and won the OAC Tournament.  Now the Yellow Jackets must await a Monday decision by the NCAA Division III National Selection Committee as to whether B-W will be invited to the national tourney.
