Baldwin-Wallace College's Brandon Hedges Named as Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week

BEREA, OHIO — Baldwin-Wallace College sophomore running back Brandon Hedges (Oregon/ Caly High School) has been named as this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. It is the third time this season that Hedges has won the award.

Hedges earned the honor for his 189-yard all-purpose performance in a 20-18 loss to Capital University last Saturday at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea. Hedges ran for a game-high 124 yards in 28 attempts and scored touchdowns on runs of 48 and 18 yards. He also led the Yellow Jackets with six receptions for 65 yards.

For the season, Hedges leads the OAC in rushing, scoring and all-purpose yards. He has rushed for 905 yards in 160 attempts (5.7 yards per carry) with 12 TD. He also tops B-W in receiving with 19 catches for 157 yards. Hedges averages 151.7 all-purpose yards per game.

Hedges won the award earlier this season in Yellow Jacket wins against Allegheny (Pa.), 27-14, and versus Otterbein College (31-24). Against Allegheny, Hedges ran for 156 yards and two TD. Versus Otterbein, he had a career-high 192 yards and scored three times.

This Saturday, October 30, the B-W football team hosts OAC rival Mount Union College at The George Finnie Stadium on Seniors' Day at 1:30 p.m. The game can be heard locally on both campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM, and on Cleveland commercial station WHKW, 1220 AM, on a delay basis with the game airing at 4:00 p.m. in the Greater Cleveland area and on WHKW, 1440 AM, in the Warren and Youngstown area.
