Special Teams Player of the Week
BEREA, OHIO - Baldwin-Wallace College freshman punter Kevin Soflkiancs (Middleburg Heights/ Midpark High School) has been named as this week's Ohio Athletic Conference football Special Teams Player of the Week. Soflkiancs earned his honor for his efforts in the Yellow Jackets' 31-3 victory last Saturday (September 18) against Ohio Northern University at The George Finnie Stadium.
Soflkiancs racked up 317 yards on seven punts, including a career-long 66-yard kick. He also pinned the visiting Polar Bears inside their own 20-yard line twice. Soflkiancs averaged 45.3 yards per kick which is the second best single-game average for a college game in the history of Finnie Stadium After two games, he leads the OAC in punting with a 42.3-yard average in 11 attempts.
This week, the B-W football team travels to Wilmington to face the Wilmington College Quakers in an OAC game at 1:30 p.m. at Williams Field. The game can be heard locally on both campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM, and on Cleveland commercial station WHK, 1420 AM. Both pregame shows begin at 1:00 p.m. from Wilmington.
