Athletic Conference Women's Track Runner of the Week
BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior standout Liz Redd (Canton/ GlenOak) has been named as this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track & Field Runner of the Week.
Redd earned the honor for her efforts in leading the Yellow Jackets to the OAC Northern Meet Championship last weekend at Heidelberg College.
Individually, Redd won twice and ran on two winning relay teams. Individually, she won the 100 meter dash in 12.89 seconds and 200 meter dash in 26.49 seconds. Redd also ran on the winning 4 x 100 meter relay team along with sophomore Jeanne Osborne (Oak Harbor), junior All-American Kara Weaver (Myrtle Creek, Ore./ South Umpqua) and senior Mary Griglak (Berea/ Lutheran West). The quartet won in 49/49 seconds. She ran on the winning 4 x 400 meter relay team along with freshman Rebekah Paul (Gibsonburg), sophomore Courtney Smith (Mayfield) and Griglak. The quartet won in 4:08.12 overall.
In addition to being an outstanding track and field student-athlete at B-W, Redd maintains a 3.8 grade point average, is a member of the Dean's List and the Alpha Lambda, Kappa Delta Pi and Uni Alpha Sigma academic honor groups. This fall, Redd was the recipient of the Ohio Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Memorial Scholarship and last spring received the B-W Lee Tressel Scholar-Athlete Scholarship at the B-W Honors' Day ceremony. She also is a member of the Campus Entertainment Productions group and has served as a Resident Assistant.
