BW's Steve Price and Emily Oliver Named OAC Field Athletes of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University senior Steve Price (North Olmsted) and junior Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) have been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference's Field Athletes of the Week after hitting NCAA Division III qualifying-marks this weekend.

The duo competed at the Liberty University Collegiate Invite on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3.

Price scored a career-high 6,718 points in the 10-even decathlon and posted an automatic qualifying mark for the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet that will be hosted by BW in late May. He placed 12th in the decathlon at last year’s Championships.

Oliver also scored a career-high with 4,130 points in the seven-event heptathlon and posted a provisional qualifying-mark for nationals. She placed 15th in the five-event pentathlon at this winter’s NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship Meet.

The Yellow Jacket track and field teams next compete on Saturday, April 10 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to compete at the annual Marv Frye Meet at Ohio Wesleyan University. Field events begin at 11:00 a.m.

The 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet is May 27-29 at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea. This is the fifth time that the College has hosted the NCAA Div.
