Baldwin-Wallace All-American Junior Thrower Kevin Phipps Named OAC Field Athlete of the Week

BEREA, OHIO – Baldwin-Wallace College All-American junior thrower Kevin Phipps (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday.

Phipps won the hammer throw with a mark of 194 feet and 10 inches. He also placed second in the discus with a throw of 159’3” at the All-Ohio Division III Championship Meet in Delaware.

To date, Phipps is automatically qualified in the hammer throw (194’10”) for the NCAA DIII Championship Meet that will be hosted by B-W from May 27-29. He also has a high provisional qualifying mark in the discus (166’9”).

Phipps earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish in the discus at last year’s NCAA DIII Championship Meet. He was an indoor All-American this season in the weight throw as well.
