The Yellow Jacket Men's Tennis Team Posts a 6-0 Record on its Trip to
Hilton Head, S.C., Now 11-0 With 33 Straight Wins Overall
BEREA, OHIO — The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team had a perfect 6-0 record on its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina, improved its overall mark to 11-0 and ran its Ohio Athletic Conference-record for consecutive dual match victories to 33.
On its trip, BW defeated Roanoke (Va.) College, 6-1, the University of Charleston (W.Va.), 6-1, Waynesburg (Pa.) College, 7-0, Ithaca (N.Y.) College, 7-0, Ohio Wesleyan University, 5-2, and Eastern (Pa.) University, 6-1.
When added to its win last fall (during its fall season) versus Allegheny (Pa.) College and its four shutout wins (versus Penn State-Behrend College, Tiffin University, Malone College and Ohio Dominican University) this winter prior to its trip to Hilton and the Yellow Jackets are a perfect 11-0 so far this season. Combine that with BW's perfect 22-0 overall record and OAC Championship in 2003-2004, and the Yellow Jackets have now won an OAC-record 33 straight dual matches.
The Yellow Jackets will return to Berea on Saturday (March 12) and open northern play on Thursday, March 17 against Walsh University at the "Pop" Collins Tennis Complex at 3:30 p.m. The first OAC match is at home against arch-rival Mount Union College on March 26 at 1:00 p.m. The 2005 OAC Championship Tournament is on Friday and Saturday, April 29-30 at Marietta College.
