Men's Tennis Team Defeats Lake Forest (Ill.) to Run Record to 5-0

BEREA, OHIO --  The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team defeated Lake Forest (Ill.) College, 6-1, on the first day (Sunday, March 7) of its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina and ran its overall record to a perfect 5-0.

 In singles action, junior Mike Wagner (Avon Lake) at number one singles, junior Ward Crane (Hudson/ Western Reserve) at No.2, senior Dean Morse (Wickliffe) at No.3, junior Alex Ison (Tallmadge) at No.4, sophomore Brandon May (New Philadelphia) at No.5 all won in straight sets.  In doubles play, the No. 1 tandem of Wagner and Crane, the No.2 duo of Morse and Ison and the No.3 duo of May andSloan all won in an eight-game pro-set.  Morse's win in singles play extended his three-year victory streak to 24 straight matches and improved his collegiate singles record to 40-4 overall.

 The Yellow Jackets are back in action today (March 8) as they face Emory & Henry (Va.) at 12:00 noon and then play Ohio Athletic Conference rival Heidelberg College at 4:00 p.m.  On the trip, BW plays six matches in five days.
