BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men's tennis team, regionally ranked 19th, continued its winning ways as the Yellow Jackets defeated Lebanon Valley (Pa.) College, 8-1, today (Wednesday, March 7, 2007) in its final spring break trip in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
With its win, B-W improves to 11-0 this season, including a 6-0 record in Hilton Head.
In singles play, junior number one singles player James Daly (Akron/Firestone), senior No.2 player Ryan McCartney (Lorain/Admiral King), freshman No. 3 player Andy Redd (Archbold), sophomore No. 4 player Jim Kucera (Mentor), and freshman No.6 player Nick Harpley (Medina/Medina Highland) all won.
In doubles, the No. 1 tandem of Daly and Kucera, No. 2 duo of Long and senior Dan Mitoff (Lorain/Admiral King) and the No.3 duo of Redd and McCartney all won.
The Yellow Jackets return to Berea on Saturday and open northern play on March 16 when they host traditional rival Oberlin College at the "Pop" Collins Tennis Complex at 3:30 p.m.
