BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men's tennis team continued its winning ways this winter as the Yellow Jackets defeated Hiram College,9-0, today (Saturday, February 17, 2007) at the Paramount Racket Club in Medina to improve to 3-0 this season. Later today, B-W faces Ohio Dominican University at the North Ridge Racket Club in Medina.
In its win versus Hiram, number one singles player James Daly (Akron/ Firestone), senior No.2 player Ryan McCartney (Lorain/ Admiral King), freshman No. 3 player Andy Redd (Archbold), freshman No. 4 player Zach Apperson (Zanesville/ Bishop Rosecrans) and sophomore No. 6 player Zach Long (Ashland/ Senior) all won in singles play.
In doubles, the No. 1 tandem of Daly and sophomore Jim Kucera (Mentor), the No.2 duo of Long and senior Dan Mitoff (Lorain/ Admiral King) and the No.3 duo of Redd and Apperson all won.
The Yellow Jacket men end winter play next Saturday, Feb. 24 when they play Defiance College at 6:30 p.m. at the North Ridge Racket Club in North Ridgeville.
