BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men’s tennis team and its star player, senior number one singles and doubles player James Daly (Akron/ Firestone), ended the 2007-2008 season ranked in Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top-25 of the Central Region (ITA Central Region Rankings).
The Yellow Jackets ended this season with a 20-5 overall and 8-1 Ohio Athletic Conference record and was ranked No. 24 in the final ITA Central Region poll. The 20-win campaign marked the fifth time in the last six years that B-W has won 20 or more matches (the other year the Yellow Jackets won 19).
Daly, who ended his career at B-W as its all-time wins leader, was ranked as the region’s 12th best singles player. Earlier this spring, Daly recieved the Mark Lenssen Award as the OAC Men’s Player of the Year for the second season in a row and was the highest ranked OAC player in the poll. Daly ended his career as the winningest all-time singles and doubles player in school, OAC and Ohio collegiate history with a 105-10 career singles and 91-15 career doubles record. Daly’s 196 career combination wins also are the most in B-W, OAC and Ohio collegiate history.
