Veteran Soccer Coaches Wojtkun and Stavros Join the Baldwin-Wallace

College Coaching Staff as Assistants

BEREA, OHIO -- Veteran Greater Cleveland/ Akron coaches Jim Wojtkun and John Stavros have joined the Baldwin-Wallace College soccer program as assistant coaches for 2005. Wojtkun comes to B-W from Bay Village High School and Stavros from Copley H.S.

Wojtkun will be an assistant coach and will serve as the recruiting coordinator with the Yellow Jacket women’s program. He has worked at the collegiate, high school, club, and Olympic Development Program (ODP) levels and has a wealth of knowledge of the game of soccer. Wojtkun possesses a USSF (United States Soccer Federation) "C" Coaching License as well as an NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Assocation of America) National Diploma and Goalkeeping Diploma.

While at Bay High School, he served as an assistant coach and was the goalkeeper trainer for the 2003 State Championship team and the 2004 team that reached the Regional Finals. Wojtkun also works with the Cleveland Cobras premier soccer club, where he is the head coach for the U-17 girls team as well as the goalkeeper trainer for the Club. He has led his squad to tournament titles at the Virginian, Creek Classic, Cleveland Cup, Flagship Cup, and other prestigious tournaments.

Wojtkun graduated from the University of Dayton and received his Master’s Degree from Xavier University.

Stavros will be an assistant coach and work with the goalkeepers with the Yellow Jacket men’s program. He owns a "D" Coaching License and NSCAA 1 and 2 license and has served as a State ODP goalkeeper trainer for more than two years. The past two years, Stavros has served as an Assistant Coach at Copley.

As a player, Stavros was a key player at Henry Ford (Mich.) and Schoolcraft (Mich.) community colleges before moving on to NCAA Division I Akron and lettered under Coach Robert Dowdy.
