Baldwin Wallace University Sophomore Soccer Standout Tom Ehrnfelt is Tabbed to
the Academic All-OAC Team
BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University sophomore men's soccer defender Tom Ehrnfelt (Strongsville) has been tabbed as an Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference player for his efforts in the classroom and on the soccer field. This fall, Ehrnfelt led the Yellow Jacket men to a single-season school-record 14 victories, a 14-5-1 overall record and BW's first-ever berth in the four-team OAC Tournament.
Ehrnfelt, who carries a 3.41 grade point average in pre-law, is a two-year starter who also earned second-team All-OAC and first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District IV accolades this fall. He is currently under consideration for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. In 20 games, Ehrnfelt took seven total shots, including three shots on-goal. On defense, he led an attack the allowed just 19 goals in 20 games (0.95 goals per game). Ehrnfelt was also tabbed to the all-tournament team at the Virginia Wesleyan tourney which BW won the championship. In the classroom, Ehrnfelt is also a Dean's List student.
As a freshman in 2003, Ehrnfelt played in all 19 games and led the Yellow Jackets to a 12-7 overall record. He was named as BW's Most Valuable Defensive Player as he scored one goal and assisted on two others for four total points.
"Tom Ehrnfelt is a leader both in the classroom and on the soccer field," said third-year Head Coach Reid Ayers. "He is a young man who has his priorities in the right place. Tom leads by example. On the soccer field, Tom is one of the best defenders in the OAC. We are glad that Tom is being honored for his dual excellence."
