Double Overtime

BEREA, OHIO ó The Baldwin Wallace University menís soccer team tied Ohio Athletic Conference rival Otterbein College, 0-0, in double overtime tonight (Saturday, Oct. 8) in Berea, Ohio.

With its tie, the Yellow Jacket men's record stands at 10-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the OAC. Otterbein is now 4-6-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the OAC.

The Yellow Jackets outshot the Cardinals, 18-7, including 8-2 on-goal. BW also outcornered Otterbein, 12-5.

In goal, BW senior All-Great Lakes Region goalie Nate Christian (North Ridgeville) improved upon his school single-season shutout record by playing in his 10th shutout of the season. The shutout also was Christian's school career-record 26th overall. Christian's 10 shutouts this season broke a school-record set by Ken Knobel in 1989 and equalled by Christian in both 2003 as a sophomore and again as a junior in 2004. Overall, Christian faced one shot and made one save in 110 minutes of action.

The Yellow Jacket men next play on Wednesday, October 12 when they travel to University heights to play OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University at Don Shula Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Next Saturday, the BW women are at Mount Union College for a women's and men's doubleheader. The women play at 3:30 p.m. and the men play at 7:00 p.m.
