BW Menís Golf Team Stands Fourth After First Round of Mount Union Fall Invitational

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University menís golf team currently stands in fourth place of nine teams after the first 18 holes at the 2008 Mount Union Fall Invitational (Sunday, September 28, 2008) at the Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance.  The teams will conclude play tomorrow, Monday, September 29, with another 18 holes at the Alliance Country Club.

The Yellow Jackets have tallied 300 strokes after the first 18 rounds and sit in fourth place, just 13 strokes back of first-place John Carroll Univeristy, on the par-72 and 6,694-yard Tannenhauf layout.

Individually, junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Nick Bryan (Zanesville/Bishop Rosecrans) and freshman Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Parma Padua Franciscan) led the way with a 74-stroke performance. Sophomore Matt Weiss (Concord/ Mentor) and junior Cory Swaisgood (Fremont/ St. Josephís Centeal Catholic) each shot a 76.

In addition and playing as individuals at Mount Union, sophomore Brian Routhieaux (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars Area) followed and freshman Chris Juszczak (East Liverpool) shot a 77, junior Tom Jesko (Salem/ Senior) shot an 81 and freshman Kyle Lewis (Riverside, Calif./ Riverside Poly) shot a season-best 84.  Overall, seven Yellow Jackets dropped their per round stroke averages.

Following the second round of the Mount Union Fall Invitational, BW will conclude the fall season on Sunday and Monday, October 5-6, at the two-day Muskingum College Invitational Tournament at Eagle Sticks Golf Club in South Zanesville.
