Men's Golf Team Places Eighth at the Olivet College Comet Classic
BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University men’s golf team placed eighth today (September 4) of 21 teams at the Ninth Annual Olivet (Mich.) Comet Classic in Battle Creek, Michigan. They posted a two-day total of 619 (309-310) strokes. The tournament was played at the Bedford Valley Country Club (par 71; 6,915 yards). Click here for complete results.
Junior Steve Porter (Canton/Perry) led the way for the yellow jackets by shooting a two-day total of 153 (80-73). Following Porter, were juniors Gary Petit (Marietta) and Bobby Santerre (Cincinnati LaSalle), who posted a two-day total of 155. Senior Chuck Scarbrough (Warren/Howland) shot a two-day total of 156 (74-82). Freshman Matt Lewis (Canal Fulton Northwest), shot a two-day total of 175 (89-86).
There was a three way tie for the individual medalist position. Tim Fish (Franklin College), Jonathan Stapleton (Olivet College), and Mark Heible (Davenport University) all shot a two-day low of 144 strokes.
The yellow jackets will be in action again at the Muskingum College Invitational on September 10 and 11 2004.
