Baldwin Wallace University Men's Golf Team Finishes Fifth of 10 Teams at the

Mount Union Fall Invitational

BEREA, OHIO — The Baldwin Wallace University men’s golf team finished fifth of 10 teams at the annual Mount Union College Fall Golf Invitational at the Tannehauf Golf Course in Alliance, Ohio.  The event concluded the four-tournament fall golf season for the Yellow Jackets. The Yellow Jackets carded rounds of 307 and 314 to finish with a 621 team total.  Individually, junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Bobby Santerre (Cincinnati/ LaSalle) led the way with rounds of 78 and 75 for a two-day, 36-hole total of 153 strokes.  He was followed by junior Gary Petit (Marietta) at 155, freshman Matt Lewis (Canal Fulton/ Northwest), freshman Nathan Federonick (Mogadore/ Field) and senior Chuck Scarbrough (Warren/ Howland) at 158, junior Rob Porter (Massillon/ Perry) at 160, senior Aaron Cuddy (Ashtabula/ St. John & Paul) at 161, freshman Mike Nenior (Rootstown) at 165 and senior Mark Speaks (Apple Creek/ Waynedale) at 175.

For the four-tournament fall season, BW placed eighth of 21 schools at the Olivet (Mich.) College Comet Classic, fourth of 11 schools at the Wittenberg University Tournament, seventh of 14 schools at the Denison University Invitational and fifth at Mt. Union.

Individually this fall, Santerre had the top stroke average at 76.88 strokes for four events and eight rounds of 18 holes.  He was followed by Scarbrough at 77.63, Porter at 78.50, Petit at 80.25, Federonick at 81.17, Lewis at 81.75, Cuddy at 82.25, Jenior at 82.50 and Speaks at 87.50 strokes.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action this spring when they open their season with the annual Spring Break trip to either Hilton Head, South Carolina or to Florida.  More information on that trip will follow at a later date.  The 2005 spring season culminates with the OAC Championship Tournament.
