BEREA, OHIO Senior forward Thad Davis (Elyria/ Open Door) scored a game-high 30 points and grabbed 19 rebounds tonight (December 15, 2004) as the Baldwin-Wallace College men's basketball team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference rival Ohio Northern University, 74-54, in Berea at the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium. The win snapped a two-game Yellow Jacket losing streak
With its victory, B-W improved to 6-2 overall and 1-2 in the OAC. With its loss, ONU fell to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the OAC.
In the first half, B-W jumped out to a 9-2 lead and led by as many as 13 points at 36-23 with 3:09 left before halftime when sophomore guard Nick Meyer (Mentor) canned a jump shot. The Yellow Jackets also led at the intermission, 38-27. In the second half, B-W built its lead to as many as 23 points at 74-51 with 1:07 left when junior Charod Hale (Akron/ Kenmore) scored on a layup.
In addition to Thad Davis for B-W, junior guard Keith Aufmuth (Brooklyn) scored 17 points and sophomore forward Tori Davis (Elyria/ Open Door) had 11 points and grabbed five rebounds. With his 30 points and 19 rebounds today, Thad Davis now has 1,507 career points and 760 career rebounds and is ninth on the all-time Yellow Jacket scoring list and seventh in rebounding.
ONU was led by freshman guard Kyle Gehle had 17 points and sophomore guard Greg Badenhop had 10 markers.
The B-W men will be back in action this Saturday, December 18 when they travel to Bexley to play Capital University at the Capital Center at 3:00 p.m.

The Pregame Notes -- The Baldwin-Wallace College Yellow Jacket men's basketball team will look to get back on the winning track and gain its first Ohio Athletic Conference win of the season when it hosts Ohio Athletic Conference rival Ohio Northern University in an OAC game at the Ursprung Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets enter this game with a 5-2 overall and 0-2 OAC record following a 66-62 loss at Muskingum College last Saturday in New Concord. B-W has lost two straight games after beginning the season at 5-0.
The Polar Bears enter this game with a 5-2 overall and 2-0 OAC record following its 129-97 win against Marietta College last Saturday in Ada at the ONU Sports Center. ONU has won four straight games, including its first two OAC contests.
The Baldwin-Wallace Versus Ohio Northern College Series-- This is the 74th all-time meeting between Baldwin-Wallace College and Ohio Northern University in mens basketball. ONU leads the series between the two schools, 48-25, but B-W won the last meeting, on February 11, 2004 in Berea,78-69. ONU also beat B-W a year ago in Ada,89-80, on January 7, 2004.

At the point guard will be 511 senior Academic All-OAC player Tom Harrington (North Royalton/ Parma Heights Holy Name) and at the wing will be 60 junior All-OAC player Keith Aufmuth (Brooklyn). Thad Davis tops the team in scoring with 19.4 points per game, Davis also tops the team in rebounding at 12.6 rebounds per game and is canning .533 percent of his field goals (49 of 92). Tori Davis is second in scoring at 18.6 ppg., grabs 8.7 rpg., has 15 blocked shots and six steals, and is shooting .615 percent from the floor (48-of-78). Tom Harrington is third in scoring at 8.0 ppg. ppg., first with 46 assists and first with ten three-pointers and has committed just 13 turnovers in 247 minutes of action. Keith Aufmuth is scoring 7.9 ppg. and is second with 20 assists and nine treys. Marks is averaging 7.1 ppg. and 3.0 rpg.

ONU Probable Starters -- Look for Head Coach Joe Campoli to start 68 senior post Mark Killian, 64 junior wing Nate Lieb and 63 sophomore swing-man Ryan Lee at the post positions. At the point guard will be 511 sophomore Jared Bostel-man and at the wing will be 64 sophomore Greg Badenhop. Badenhop leads the team at 18.6 ppg. and also grabs 4.0 rpg. and has canned 18 three-pointers. Killian is second on the team in scoring at 10.3 ppg. and leads the team in rebounding at 5.6 rgp. Lieb is third on the team in scoring at 10.0 ppg., second in assists with 19 and is tied with Badenhop for the most treys with 18. Lee adds 6.0 ppg and is second on the team in rebounds at 4.4 rpg. Bostelman leads the team in assists with 23 and also adds 5.6 ppg.
Off the bench, look for 66 senior post player Phil Hoying, 60 freshman guard Kyle Gehle, 511 freshman guard Nate Overmyer and 511 sophomore guard Charlie Kelly to all see playing time. Hoying is fourth on the team in scoring at 8.0 ppg and also grabs 3.9 rpg. Gehle adds 7.0 ppg. and has five three-pointers. Overmyer scores 3.9 ppg. and has six three-pointers. Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was current senior two-time All-OAC forward Thad Davis with 25 points and a game-high 17 rebounds. Also chipping in was current sophomore All-OAC forward Tori Davis with 20 points and four rebounds and current sophomore wing player Keith Aufmuth with 11 points. The Polar Bears were led by graduated senior wing Jim Conrad with 29 points and a game-high four steals. Sophomore Greg Bradenhop scored 15 points off the bench for the Polar Bears and Sam Mikolajewski led the team with 11 total rebounds.
In B-W's Last Game, on December 11, 2004 versus Muskingum: Muskingum 66, Baldwin-Wallace -- 62, -- The Yellow Jackets lost their second straight game as they were upset by OAC rival Muskingum College, 66-62, on Saturday, December 11, in New Concord to fall to 5-2 overall and 0-2 in the OAC. Leading the way for B-W was sophomore forward Tori Davis with 17 points and 13 rebounds. He made eight-of-14 shots from the floor and added a foul shot. Joining Tori Davis in double figures were senior forward Thad Davis with 16 points and 13 rebounds and sophomore guard/ forward Matt Marks with 10 points.
In Ohio Northerns Last Game: Ohio Northern -- 129, Marietta College-- 97 on December 11, 2005 in Ada at The ONU Sports Center -- The Polar Bears won their fourth straight game and were victorious against OAC-rival Marietta College, 129-97, on Saturday in Ada at the ONU Sports Center. With the win ONU improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the OAC. The Polar Bears had five players in double digits. Senior center Mark Killian led the way with 25 points as he canned 11-of-15 shots from the floor. He also tied with sophomore wing player Ryan Lee for the most rebounds with seven each. In addition, sophomore wing player Greg Badenhop scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, passed for four assists and made a steal. Senior post player Phil Hoying , freshman guard Kyle Gehle and sophomore wing player Bart Hostetler all came off the bench to contribute 18, 10 and 10 points, respectively.

Davis Continues to Climb on the Charts -- Senior two-time Academic All-OAC forward Thad Davis enters tonights game against Ohio Northern with 1,479 career points and 741 career rebounds and stands 10th on the all-time scoring list and seventh on the all-time rebounding list.
Tori Davis Passes the 500-Point Mark, Aufmuth Closing in and Harrington is in the Club -- Sophomore All-OAC forward Tori Davis surpassed the 500-point plateau at Muskingum by scoring 17 points and now has 502 career points. JUnior All-OAC guard Keith Aufmuth is nearing it and has 489 career points. Senior Academic All-OAC point guard Tom Harrington has already passed the 500-point mark and is at 539.
Tom Harrington is 10th All-Time on the Assist List -- Tom Harringtons 296 career assists and is 10th all-time. He led the OAC a year ago with 139 assists and current tops the league this year too.
Bankson is the Winningest B-W Basketball Coach -- With his 350 victories at Baldwin-Wallace, Yellow Jacket Head Coach Steve Bankson is the winningest coach in school history. He is 350-292 in 26 years at B-W. Bankson has a career mark of 631-406 in 40 years overall, including a 232-90 mark in 12 seasons at Lorain (County) Community College and a 49-25 marks in three years at the high school level.
