Ferrell and Krakowiak Each Score 12 As B-W Men’s Basketball Team Falls To Mount Union, 49-47

BEREA, OHIO – Sophomore forward Tyler Ferrell (Brunswick) and sophomore guard Kevin Krakowiak (Valley City/Holy Name) each scored 12 points but the Baldwin-Wallace College men’s basketball team was defeated by the University of Mount Union, 49-47, tonight (Wednesday, January 11, 2012) in an Ohio Athletic Conference game in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center. Ferrell, who scored a season-high, also grabbed a game-high and season-best tying nine rebounds.
With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fell to 8-6 overall and 3-4 in the OAC. The Purple Raiders won their second straight game and their third in the last four games to improve to 6-8 overall and 2-5 in the OAC.
Mount Union was led by freshman forward Stevie Griffin with a game-high 14 points, senior forward Jimmy Wood, the OAC leading scorer, with 13 and freshman guard Nate Jacubec added 10 points.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Saturday, January 14 when they will travel to Ada to take on the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University in the second game of a men’s and women’s OAC doubleheader in the ONU Sports Center at 4:00 p.m. Fans can listen to both the men’s and women’s game live on campus radio station WBWC 88.3 FM “The Sting” or via the internet at www.wbwc.com. The pregame show starts 15 minutes prior to tipoff.
The next home game is on Wednesday, January 18 when the team will welcome the Cardinals of Otterbein University to the Ursprung Gymnasium for an Ohio Athletic Conference game at 7:30 p.m.
