With its loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-1 overall, while Penn State Behrend improves to 2-0 overall.
In the first half, the Lions jumped out to a 5-0 lead when junior center Kevin Buczynski scored on a layup and then was fouled and added a free throw for an "old fashion" three-point play. B-W then used a 7-2 run to tie the score at 7-7 at the 15:53 mark when junior post Andrew Bene (Hinckley/Medina Highland) scored on a hook shot. Penn State Behrend then answered with a 28-17 run to take its biggest lead of the half at 35-24 when sophomore guard Tom Newman made a three-point field goal at the 1:58 mark. Senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference guard Brendan Schuler (Fairview Park/Fairview) closed out the first half scoring with two free throws and a three-point field goal to cut the lead to 35-29 at halftime.
In the second half, the Lions scored the first basket of the half to lead 37-29 and then the Yellow Jackets went on a 14-0 run to take a 43-37 lead at the 14:28 mark when sophomore guard Louis Tumblin (Elyria/Senior) canned a three-pointer. B-W would extend its lead to 10 points when senior guard Tyler Sekerak (Corry, Pa./Corry) connected on a three-point field to lead 51-41 a the 11:42 mark. Penn State Behrend then responded with a 22-10 run to take a 63-61 lead on a jumper from freshman forward Adam Potter at the 3:47 mark. B-W took its last lead at 64-63 when sophomore transfer wing Kyle Brown (Strongsville) made a three-pointer at the 3:20 mark. Penn State Behrend then took the lead for good at the 3:04 mark when freshman guard Justin Kovac made two free throws to bring the score to 65-54, and the host Lions would go on to win the game.
B-W was led by Brown with a game-high 21 points and was one of three players to score in double figures. In addition to Brown, Schuler had 19 points and Bene added 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Penn State Behrend was led by Buczynski and junior center Dan Zeigler with 15 points each and Kovac with 10 points. Buczynski pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.

B-W will return to Berea and begin preparations for a trip next Saturday, Nov. 24 to Rochester, New York where it will play Ohio Wesleyan University at 6:00 p.m. in the first round of the University of Rochester Holiday Inn Airport Tournament.
