BEREA, OHIO Senior guard Keith Aufmuth (Brooklyn) scored 16 points and as the 17th-ranked Baldwin-Wallace College mens basketball team defeated Lycoming (Pa.) College, 80-63, tonight (Dec. 30) in the championship game of The College of Wooster Mose Hole/ Kiwanis Tournament at the Timken Physical Education Center in Wooster, Ohio.
With its victory, the Yellow Jackets are now 10-1 overall and have won a season-high sixth straight games. With its loss, Lycoming dropped to 7-5 overall. The tourney title was B-W's second this year and fifth in the past two seasons.
In the two games, Tori Davis (Elyria/ Open Door), a Division III preseason All-American, scored 56 points and grabbed 24 rebounds, to earn Most Valuable Player honors. He also has 1,190 career points and is ranked 17th on the B-W all-time scoring list. Sophomore guard Tyler Sekerak (Corry, Pa./ Corry) earned Defensive MVP honors.
In the first half, the score was tied at 3-3 with 17:43 left when B-W went on a 10-0 run to take its biggest lead of the half at 13-3 capped by Davis' lay-up with 15:38. Over the next eight minutes, Lycoming went on a 22-6 run capped by a breakaway dunk by senior Jonathan Pribble with 7:47 left in the half to make the score 25-19 in favor of Lycoming. Pribble and senior Patrick Baylor combined for 18 of the 22 points on the Warrior run. The Jackets would even the score at 35-35 which would be how the half would end. Aufmuth led all scorers at the half with 14 points on 4-of-7 from behind the three-point arc.
In the second half, the game would be tied at 37-37, when B-W went on a 15-3 run to make the score 50-40 with 14:36 left in the game as a result of a lay-up senior post Dan Gundert (Wellington). On the insuing inbound pass, Aufmuth stole the ball and converted the lay-up to give the Jackets the 10-point lead. B-W would build its largest lead at 76-54 with a jumper by junior guard Luke Lyle (Freemont/ Ross) with 3:20 left in the game. The Yellow Jackets would go on to win by the final score of 80-63.
In addition to Aufmuth, Davis scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Gundert chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Lycoming was led by Pribble's 14 points and Baylor added 11.
B-W will next be in action on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 when it travels to Alliance, Ohio to play Ohio Athletic Conference rival Mount Union College at 7:30 p.m. in the Timken Physical Education Building. The Yellow Jackets currently lead the OAC with a perfect 4-0 record.

The Yellow Jackets enter this game with a 9-1 overall record following their 113-108 double overtime victory last night in the first round of the tournament against second-ranked and host Wooster. B-W has now won a season-high five straight games and will look to win its second tournament title of the season. B-W also won a tourney title at the season-openingf Buzz Ridl Classic at Westminster (Pa.) College.
The Warriors of Lycoming College enter today's game with a 7-4 overall record following its 94-75 win last night in the first round to Thiel (Pa.) College. Lycoming has currently won four consecutive contests.
The B-W and Lycoming All-Time Series -- This is the first all-time meeting between Baldwin-Wallace College and Lycoming College in mens basketball.

Lycoming shoots 45.2 percent from the floor, 34.0 percent from three-point range and 72.5 percent from the foul line. The Warriors grab 36.3 rebounds per game for a plus 1.1 caroms per contest.
Look for Head Coach Don Friday to start 5'10" senior point guard Brad Musser and 6'3" sophomore guard Dave Wilson in the backcourt and 6'5" senior forward Jonathan Pribble, 6'6" sophomore forward Kevin Morris, and 6'5" freshman forward Greg Sye in the frontcourt. Musser is scoring 7.8 ppg., and 3.1 rpg. He is third on the team with 11 three-pointers and leads the team in both assists with 73 and steals with 16.
Off the bench, look for coach Friday to play 6'3" senior guard Patrick Baylor, 6'3" junior forward Derrick Dull, 6'5" forward Shawn Harper, 6'5" sophomore forward Matt McGair, and 6'0" sophomore guard Kevin Arvai. Leading the way for B-W was junior forward Tori Davis with a career-high and tournament-record 44 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. He canned a tourney record 20 field goals in 29 attempts and also passed for two assists and blocked four shots. Also scoring in double figures for the Yellow Jackets were sophomore point guard Brendan Schuler with 18 points and six assists, sophomore guard Tyler Sekerak with a career-high tying 15 points, and junior forward Chad Clark came off the bench to score 12 points and grab seven rebounds. Keys to the win for B-W were canning 55.1 percent of its field goals on 43-of-78 attempts, holding Wooster to just 44.6 percent shooting and forcing the Scots to make 17 turnovers.
In Lycoming's Game Last Night: Lycoming (Pa.)--94, Thiel (Pa.)--75 on Thursday, December 29 in Wooster, Ohio in the First Round -- Last night, the Lycoming College of Pennsylvania Warriors defeated Thiel College of Pennsylvania, 94-75, in the first game of this tournament to advance to the championship round. Senior forward Jonathan Pribble led Lycoming with 30 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore forward Kevin Morris chipped in with 19 points while freshman forward Shawn Harper added 10. Freshman forward Greg Sye had 10 points and seven caroms off the bench. Senior point guard Brad Musser had nine assists and set a school career-record for assists with 363.

Looking for a Second Tiourney Title in 2005 -- The Yellow Jackets are hoping to end the 2005 portion of their 2005-2006 schedule the same way they began it -- with a tournament title. B-W won the season-opening Westminster (Pa.) College Buzz Ridl Classic by beating then fifth-ranked St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College, 88-79, and then beating the host school 133-113 in the championship game.
Davis Climbing the Charts -- Junior pre-season All-American forward Tori Davis (Elyria/ Open Door Christian School) is climbing the all-time scoring charts at B-W. Davis now has 1,178 points and ranks 17th all-time. Next up on the list for Davis to pass are Bob Scelza (1981-84) with 1,229 points and Leonard Roth (1953-57) with 1,263.
At the Wooster Tournament, Davis surpassed Ken Hemmerich (1958-61) with 1,141 points and then Dick Selgo (1947-50) with 1,152.
Davis Sets Tourney Records -- Tori Davis' 44 points against Wooster set a tournament record for most points scored. He also made most field goals in a game (20), tied for the most field goals attempted in a game (29). The previous scoring record was 40 points by David Dame of Kalamazoo (Mich.) College in a game against UNC Greensboro in 1978. His 20 field goals beat the record by five and held by four players, including B-W's all-time leading scorer Dean Martin, who did it in 1970 against Bates (Maine) College.
B-W Tied the Tourney Team Scoring Record -- As a team, B-W tied the tournament record for point scored in a game with 113. Defiance College scored 113 in a 1972 game against Blackburn (Ill.) College. The 113-point outburst marks the second time B-W has surpassed the century mark this season. The Jackets' set a school-record with 133 against Westminster (Pa.) College in its second game of the season.
Keith Aufmuth is Climbing Toward 1,000 Career Points -- Senior All-OAC guard Keith Aufmuth (Brooklyn) enters this game with 841 career points and needs 159 to become the 34th player in school history to join the 1,000-Point Club.
Steve Bankson is B-W's Winningest Men's Basketball Caoch -- Yellow Jackets veteren Head Coach Steve Bankson in the winningest men's basketball coach in B-W's school history with 374 wins in 26 years. He has 655 victories in his 41-year career. He is 374-300 at B-W, was 232-90 at Lorain County Community College and 49-24 in three seasons at the high school level. Bankson is also serving as B-W's Men's Director of Athletics.
Al Sirat Grotto Night -- The Annual Al Sirat Grotto Day Game is on Saturday, January 14 when B-W hosts OAC-rival Marietta College at 3:00 p.m. Partial gate proceeds will go to benefit children with cerebral palsy.
Upcoming Honorees at Ursprung -- On Wednesday, January 25, prior to B-W's game with OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University, the College and Ohio Athletic Conference will pay tribute to longtime official and officials observer Robert "Bobby" Brown, a former B-W student. Then on Saturday, February 4, prior to its game versus Otterbein College, B-W will honor longtime history professor and faculty representative Dr. Lou Barone for his years of service to the Yellow jacket athletics program.
