B-W: Baldwin-Wallace College Senior Andrew Bene Named Second-Team All-OAC

BEREA, OHIO – Baldwin-Wallace College senior center Andrew Bene (Hinckley/Medina Highland) has been named to the 2008-09 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team announced this morning (Tuesday, March 3, 2009). Bene was tabbed as a second-team selection.

For the season, Bene led the Yellow Jackets in scoring at 18.0 points-per-game, led the OAC in rebounding at 9.8 rpg., shot a team-best 54.6 percent from the floor (178-of-326) and totaled a team-high 28 blocked shots. His18.0 ppg. also ranked third in the OAC.

Bene was named the OAC Player of the Week three times and selected to three all-tournament teams this winter, including being named the Most Valuable Player at the Otterbein “O” Club Smokey Ballenger Classic.

Bene ended his career 35th on the B-W all-time scoring list with 1,009 career points and 10th on the B-W rebounding list with 606 career caroms.
