B-W Senior Tori Davis Repeats as the 2006-2007 DIII News Division III Player of the Year

BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin-Wallace College senior men’s basketball forward Tori Davis (Elyria/ Open Door Christian School) is the repeat winner of the DIII News magazine and Internet Web site Division III Player of the Year and as a  first-team All-American for the second straight year.  In addition, Davis was named as the d3hoops.com Internet Web site first-team All-American and first-team All-Great Lakes Region selection.

Earlier this winter, Davis was named as Ohio Athletic Conference Mike Gregory Award Winner, symbolic of the OAC Player of the Year, for the second straight season. 

This season, Davis,led the OAC in scoring at 22.4 points per game and field goal shooting at 64.7 percent on 209-of-323 attempts. He also was third in the OAC and first for B-W with a career-high 9.1 rebounds per game and 59 blocked shots. Davis was selected as the OAC Player of the Week four times, including three consecutive times and earned the honor a school- record 10 times during his career.

Overall, Davis also was a four-time All-OAC selection, including being a three-time first-team pick; was a four-time Division III All-Great Lakes Region selection, including being the two-time Great Lakes Region Player of the Year; a Division III All-American in 2005-2006 and again in 2006-2007. Davis also was an OAC Player of the Week a record 10 times.

At B-W, Davis helped lead his team to an 81-31 record with a .723 winning percentage with one OAC regular season and two OAC Tournament titles and two berths in the NCAA Division III National Tournament. The 81 wins are the most by any four-year basketball player in the history of the program.

Davis finished his career as the all-time leading scorer in B-W history with 2,232 points, the fifth all-time leading rebounder with 950 and the best shot-blocker with 242. His 2,232 career points also ransk seventh all-time in OAC history. He also set career records for most games played (112), field goal percentage (.622 on 798-of-1282 shooting) and free throws attempted (880) and made (636).  As a junior, Davis set single-season marks for points scored (703), scoring average (23.4 points per game), field goals made (250), field goal percentage (.644), free goals attempted (276) and made (203) and as a sophomore set the mark for blocked shots (64). He also set a school-record as a senior in 2006-2007 when he attempted 23 free throws in an 74-71 victory against Olivet (Mich.) College.
