Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week
BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College junior men's basketball player Tori Davis (Elyria/ Open Door Christian School) is this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It is the fifth time in Davis' career that he has been honored as a Player of the Week by the OAC and the second time this season.
Davis earned his latest honor for leading the Yellow Jackets to OAC wins against Ohio Northern University (67-65) and versus Capital University (85-82).
For the week, Davis scored 47 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked four shots as B-W improved to 8-1 overall and is all alone in first place in the OAC with a perfect 4-0 record. He canned 16-of-21 shots from the floor for 76.2 percent and 15-of-19 foul shots for 78.9 percent. Against ONU, Davis canned eight-of-11 shots from the floor and five-of-seven foul shots for a game-high 21 points. He also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. In the win versus Capital, Davis had game-highs of 26 points and six rebounds as he connected on eight-of-10 floor shots and 10-of-12 foul shots. His 26 markers tied his season high for the third time in 2005-2006.
Davis previously earned the OAC Player of the Week honor the Week of Nov. 21-27.
During his career, Davis has scored 1,134 points and stands 19th on the all-time scoring list. He was a second-team All-OAC player as a freshman when he also was named to the d3hoops.com All-Freshman team. As a sophomore, Davis was a first-team All-OAC and second-team All-Great Lakes Region pick.
Davis and the Yellow Jackets return to action on Thursday, December 29 when they travel to Wooster, Ohio to play the second-ranked The College of Wooster Fightng Scots in the first round of the Wooster Holiday Tournament at 7:30 p.m.
