BEREA, OHIO -- Senior Alex Johnson (Olmsted Falls) represented Baldwin-Wallace College in the 2004 NCAA Division III National Indoor Track Meet which concluded today (March 13) and was held on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Whitewater, Wis. (Click here to view entire results of the 2004 NCAA Division III National Meet)
At this year's national meet, Johnson competed in the shot put and posted a mark of 51-feet and eleven and one-quarter inches. His throw put him in tenth overall and would not be good enough to qualify in the final individual standings. Usoma Orji from Massachusetts Institute of Technology would win the overall event with a throw of 59-feet and six and one-quarter inches.
Johnson qualified for this year's national tournament by winning the shot put at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships with a throw of 52-feet and five and one-half inches. He qualified provisionally last year for his performance in the throwing events but this was his first appearance in the national meet.
