BEREA, OHIO --  Three Baldwin Wallace College winter student-athletes, men’s sophomore track standout Brandon Eddy (Cuyahoga Heights), junior diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and junior swimmer Chris Tuttle (North Royalton), have been named as Ohio Athletic Conference Athletes-of-the-Week today (Monday, January 23, 2012).  This is the third time that Pinter has earned the award during her distinguished career. Eddy and Tuttle are being honored for the first time.

Eddy earned his award for his efforts in leading the Yellow Jacket men’s track team to a title at the 7-team B-W Mid-January Meet last Friday (Jan. 20) on the Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Center. Individually, Eddy won the pole vault with a meet and school indoor-record vault of 16-feet, won the high jump with a leap of 6’2” and won the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.97 seconds.

This Friday, Eddy and his teammates will host the annual OAC North Split Squad Meet on the Dillard Track at 5:00 p.m.

Pinter is one of the finest female divers in Division III and is a four-time All-American, a 2-time OAC Diver of the Year and a 3-time OAC Diver of the Week.  She earned her third honor by virtue of her efforts in meets at Hiram College (Jan. 20) and at home against Ohio Northern University (Jan. 21). In a victory at Hiram, Pinter won the 1-meter event with 251.70 points and set a Hiram pool record in the 3-meter event with 251.90 points. Against ONU, she won the 1-meter voluntary event with a season-best score of 270.20 points and captured the 1-meter optional event with 183.05 points.  Pinter is undefeated this season against Division III competition.

Tuttle is competing in his first season of swimming at B-W.  He also earned his honor for his efforts in meets last weekend.  Against Hiram, Tuttle individually won the 100-meter freestyle in 58.49 seconds and the 200-free in 2:06.48, and he swam on the winning 200-meter medley relay team.  Versus ONU, Tuttle won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:04.22 and swam on the victorious 400-yard free relay team.

Pinter and Tuttle and their teammates end the regular season this weekend when they travel to University Circle to compete at Case Western Reserve University on Friday, January 27 at 6:00 p.m. and then to University Heights on Saturday, January 28 to swim at OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University at 1:00 p.m.
