BEREA, OHIO -- Three Baldwin-Wallace College indoor track and field athletes have been officially selected to compete at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by DePauw (Ind.) University on Friday and Saturday, March 12-13, at the James A. Hollensteiner Track in Greencastle, Indiana.

The three Yellow Jacket athletes are junior pentathlete Emily Oliver (Waynesburg/Sandy Valley) on the women's side with senior thrower Greg Patrick (Collins/Western Reserve) and junior thrower Kevin Phipps (Patalaska/Watkins Memorial) on the men's side.

Oliver will compete in the pentathlon beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13. She enters the meet ranked 11th in the nation by virtue of her school record-breaking 3,247-point performance at the Ohio Wesleyan University Pentathlon in mid-February. The five events of the pentathlon are the high jump, shot put, long jump, 55-meter hurdles and the 800-meter run. Oliver earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors in the high jump with a career-best jump of five feet, two and one half inches at the OAC Championship meet on February 26-27.

Patrick will compete in the shot put at 1:00 p.m. on March 13. He enters the meet ranked seventh in the nation following his school record-breaking throw of 54'6.75" at the OAC Championship meet. He placed first and was named the Bud Yoest Most Outstanding Field Athlete. Patrick earned All-American honors at last season's NCAA Outdoor Championship and was named the DIII Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year for the 2009 season.

Phipps will compete in the weight throw at 6:00 p.m. on March 12 and is the only Yellow Jacket that competed at last season's indoor championship. He ranks sixth in the nation following his OAC record-breaking throw of 61'1.25" at the OAC Championship meet. Phipps did not qualify for the finals at last year's indoor championships but he did go on to earn All-America honors during the outdoor season. His personal-best mark is nearly five feet better than it was entering last season's indoor championship.

The top eight finishers in each event earn All-American status at this year's championships.
