Becker, Avram named OAC Players of the Week
BEREA, OHIO - Baldwin Wallace University junior punter Rob Becker (Dover High School) is this week’s Ohio Athletic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week. It is the second time this season that Becker has earned the accolade. Also, Kirtland High School graduate, Villa Angela - St. Joseph High School graduate and Baldwin Wallace University junior goalie Amanda Avram is this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Co-Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
Rob Becker
Becker, a two-year letterman, earned the honor by averaging 41.3 yards for three punts last Saturday as the Yellow Jackets, 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the OAC, defeated Wilmington College, 47-7. Two of his three punts landed inside the 20-yard line. In addition, Becker, a backup fullback, carried the ball one time for three yards.

For the season, Becker has played in all six games and is averaging 42.1 yards for 16 punts but does not lead the OAC because he does not have the required 2.8 punts per game to qualify. He is averaging 2.75 per game. Of his 16 punts, Becker’s longest is 55 yards and seven have traveled inside the 20-yard line.
This week, the Yellow Jackets will be back in action when they host Muskingum College on Saturday at The George Finnie Stadium in Berea at 1:30 p.m. It is the 22nd Annual Shriners’ Day, Second Annual Youth Football Day and Academic All-America Day.
Avram, a two-time All-OAC player and the 2001 OAC Goalie of the Year, earned the award for recording shutouts last week against Ohio Northern University, 1-0 in overtime, on Tuesday (Oct. 15) and Marietta College, 3-0, on Saturday (Oct. 19). For the week, Avram faced 34 total shots, made 22 saves and did not allow a goal.
