BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College junior Rob Becker (Dover) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week and Football Gazette Co-Special Teams Player of the Week.

In addition, Yellow Jacket junior Emily Bowen (Tiffin Columbian) has been chosen as the OAC Volleyball Player of the Week.

Becker, a 6'0", 210 pound punter, averaged 44.3 yards per punt and a 35.3 net yard average in last Saturday's game against Mount Union.  He had punts of 50, 43 and 40 yards.  Becker also had a tackle on one his punts.

"Rob did a great job keeping us in the game against Mount," said Head Coach John Snell.  "He has worked very hard and continues to improve each week."

Bowen, a 5'10" rightside player/ defensive specialist, led B-W to its 11th straight win, including a 3-0 win against Otterbein last Saturday to open OAC play.  In the two matches, she recorded 26 kills, 13 digs and a .469 hitting percentage.

"Emily was unstoppable in the front row last week," said veteran Head Coach Vicki Brault.  "She has become a go-to player this year because of her experience and poise on the court."

The football team will return to action on Saturday, September 28 at Heidelberg College in Tiffin at 1:30 p.m.  The volleyball team will next play on Friday-Saturday, September 27-28, when it travels to the prestigious Trinity (Texas) Invitational.
