BEREA, OHIO --Lorain Catholic High School graduate and Baldwin-Wallace College senior forward Holly Koepp is this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Koepp shares the honor with Otterbein College's Diana Esterkamp.
Koepp, a two-time All-OAC selection, scored 45 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in two games last week as the Yellow Jackets beat Ohio Northern University (80-62) and Capital University (71-60). Koepp made 16 of 22 shots from the floor for a blistering 72.7 percent, including two of three three-pointers, and canned 11 of 13 free throws for 84.6 percent. She also had three assists and six steals. It is the second time in her career that she hasearned this honor.
For the season, Koepp leads B-W in both scoring (12.5 points per game) and rebounding (7.6 rpg.) and in steals (25).
The Yellow Jackets, 12-1 overall and 5-1 in the OAC, return to action on Wednesday, January 15, when they host OAC rival John Carroll University at 7:30 p.m. in Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea. B-W is currently ranked 10th in Division III by the d3hoops.com Division III Internet Web site and 10th by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association/ USA Today poll.
